Pageant of the Golden Tree
A Journey Through Time

On Sunday 25 August 2024, the Pageant of the Golden Tree takes place in Bruges. This mediaeval procession tells a story about Bruges and the historic county of Flanders. The central element is the spectacular marriage of Duke Charles the Bold and Margaret of York, supplemented with legends, wars, the plague, parties and much Burgundian grandeur. The 14th fully updated edition focuses on dynamics and interaction. The Duke's jesters will literally break through the boundaries of the procession, turning facades, walls (and spectators?) into part of the scenery. The regions of the Vikings, damsels, knights and robbers will also capture the imagination. Enjoy the performances free of charge along the route or reserve a seat to watch the fun in the Markt (Market Square).
