European law firm Fieldfisher is pleased to announce the appointment of Héctor Jausàs as President, alongside Rodrigo Martos and Talmac Bel as Co- Managing Partners to lead the firm's operations in Spain, across its Barcelona and Madrid offices.
Héctor, a Regulatory Partner and head of Spain's Life Sciences group, will assume an institutional leadership role as President. Rodrigo, a Corporate M&A Partner, and Talmac, a Labour and Employment Partner, will share responsibility for the firm's executive leadership.
This leadership structure reflects the evolving demands of the growing Spanish operations and its increasingly diverse client base. By appointing three leaders with complementary skills and specialisations, the firm is strengthening its ability to respond to the complexity of client needs and opportunities in the Spanish market.
These appointments reflect the culmination of a period of exceptional growth for Fieldfisher Spain under Jordi Ruiz de Villa's leadership. Over the past five years, Jordi has played a pivotal role in strengthening the firm's presence in the Spanish market, overseeing a 20% increase in revenue in the last financial year, and leading the recruitment of six new partners across Corporate M&A, Criminal Law, Disputes, Tech and Data, and Tax. His tenure has been marked by significant achievements, positioning Fieldfisher Spain as a key player in the international legal market.
Héctor, Rodrigo, and Talmac will build on this strong foundation as they assume leadership of the firm. Jordi will remain with Fieldfisher as a Litigation and Franchise Partner, contributing his extensive expertise to the firm's growth and success.
Alongside the new Managing Partners, Fernando Pinillo will continue in his role as CEO of the firm, overseeing the management and direction of the firm's business services functions: Human Resources, Business Development, IT, Marketing and Communications, and Finance and Administration.
These appointments come at a time of significant growth for Fieldfisher, where the last financial year, saw firmwide revenues increase by 10%, the opening of a new office in Vienna and the relaunch of a fully integrated operation in Italy.
The firm's confidence in its leadership was further demonstrated by the re-election of Robert Shooter as Global Managing Partner for a three-year term starting in April 2025, highlighting the continued direction driving Fieldfisher's growth and success.
Commenting on the appointment, Héctor Jausàs said:
"This new phase is part of our firm's evolution, which centres on developing talent within our organisation and reinforcing our position as a leading firm in the Spanish market. This growth aligns with Fieldfisher's broader European expansion strategy."
Rodrigo Martos and Talmac Bel added:
"We take on this responsibility with enthusiasm and dedication, leading a firm that has become a benchmark in the Spanish legal market thanks to the efforts of our predecessors and the exceptional talent within our team."
Global Managing Partner, Robert Shooter commented:
"The success of our Spanish team highlights Fieldfisher's ability to thrive in dynamic markets. I want to thank Jordi for his exceptional leadership over the past five years, during which he positioned Fieldfisher Spain as a key player in the international market. With Héctor, Rodrigo, and Talmac at the helm, I am confident that Fieldfisher Spain will continue its remarkable growth trajectory, delivering excellence for our clients and supporting the firm's global ambitions."
