Bruges: Stroll along the canals, enjoy a picnic on the waterfront, take a boat trip on the canals and discover Bruges from a different perspective. Free paddling or swimming in the large swimming area at the Coupure. As long as the quality of the water is good, you can swim there from 1.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. daily. For the little ones, there is a paddling pool.
You could also take a relaxing bike ride along the canal to Damme or Zeebrugge. And why not stop in Lissewege to admire the ‘Beelden in het witte dorp’ (Sculptures in the White Village) along the romantic 'Lisseweegs vaartje' (canal)?
Zeebrugge: Walk along the tideline or swim in the North Sea. The beach at Zeebrugge flies the Blue Flag, an international mark of quality. The bathing water is examined an average of one and a half times a week. Sporty water enthusiasts can even try out kite-surfing Icarus Surfclub. The quieter fun-seekers can embark on Captain Blue for a harbour cruise and learn about the ins and outs of a world port. Every Thursday night from 6 July to 24 August, there is Film on the Beach, a free outdoor cinema with the sea in the background.
