Fieldfisher Appoints Peter O'Neill to Enhance Commercial, Corporate and Renewable Energy Law Capabilities

The appointment of the seasoned corporate, commercial and renewable energy law expert will complement Fieldfisher's renowned international practice
DUBLIN - Fieldfisher has appointed Peter O'Neill as a Partner in its Corporate practice based in Dublin.
A seasoned professional, Peter joins the firm with eighteen years of experience securing favourable outcomes for clients in all aspects of commercial and corporate law including M&A transactions, venture capital transactions, distribution agreements and outsourcing agreements. Peter also has considerable experience in the area of renewable energy advising on project finance, energy regulatory issues, project sales and acquisitions, and joint ventures. He has previously acted for a mixture of Irish and international clients in relation to domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions as well as private equity, corporate investments, shareholders' agreements and reorganisations, both Irish and cross-border.
In 2023, Peter led a team advising FuturEnergy Ireland, a joint venture between Coillte and the ESB, on the formation of a long-term Strategic Framework Agreement with Greencoat Renewables PLC in relation to onshore wind projects across Ireland.
At Fieldfisher Ireland, Peter will collaborate closely with Feilim O'Caoimh (Partner and Head of Renewables and Corporate) and Elaine Traynor (Partner, Renewables). Together, they will strengthen the firm's delivery of exceptional service to clients across a broad range of commercial, corporate and renewable energy issues. O'Neill, a County Tyrone-native, joins the firm after having spent the last four and a half years in a similar role at Eversheds Sutherland Ireland.
