Coquelles Hotel France - A Pleasant Surprise

As you pull out of the Channel Tunnel on your venture into France you may have already planned your accommodation. Maybe you will stop in Citi Europe to pick up essential supplies, you might look around the commercial area to see what business is done there. However would you consider going on holiday there. 

A few minutes into the Citi Europe and Commercial district complex is the B & B Hotels. It was a real surprise. There are three options to choose from and from the outside maybe not the most attractive.  2,3 or 4 stars which all look the same with a big car park behind. The car park is seemingly also used by the French Police for parking on some occasions.

I thought I had booked the 4 star, turned out I had clicked 3 on Booking dot com. I was not expecting much, however it was significantly better than anticipated which is reflected by the reviews on the internet by other guests. Staff were very helpful and friendly, the bar was open much later than other local hotels. Local beer was available and the food clean and generous portions.

The B & B Hotels are conveniently located and the rooms and facilities significantly better than I anticipated for the fee paid.

A hotel squeezed between a shopping centre and an industrial area might not seem like the obvious choice, however I have already booked a return trip. It seems to be the closest hotel to the channel tunnel and easy to dismiss. Do not overlook the obvious, this is a good place to stay.
